Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (DGCA) Entrance Exam 2027

Quick Answer

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (DGCA) entrance exam for admission is AME CEE 2027, a national-level common entrance exam for DGCA-approved AME programmes. It is a 1-hour test of 75 questions (300 marks) for Class 12 PCM students, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics carrying 100 marks each. Applications run from 1 September 2026 to 31 March 2027, the exam is planned for May 2027, and the fee is INR 1,000 to INR 1,200 depending on category.

What Is the DGCA AME Entrance Exam?

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers keep aircraft airworthy and safe. In India, the AME licence is regulated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and training must be completed at a DGCA-approved institute. To get a seat in such an institute, students appear for a common entrance exam. AME CEE (AME Common Entrance Exam) is the national-level exam that participating institutes use for this purpose.

It is important to separate two things. The entrance exam (AME CEE) decides your admission and scholarship. The DGCA licensing examinations are module exams you take during and after training to earn your AME licence. This page covers the entrance exam. For the course itself, see our Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (DGCA) course details.

What Happens After You Qualify?

After the result, you join counselling and choose a participating DGCA-approved institute; your rank decides the scholarship. Training then leads towards the AME licence examinations conducted by DGCA, and a career as a licensed engineer on aircraft with airlines, MROs and aviation companies. If you are still comparing routes, explore AME (EASA), B.Tech in AME, Commercial Pilot License or BBA in Aviation.
